Some girls love buying clothes, others like buying shoes – mine has always been handbags – probably because you don’t have to go on a diet or hold your tummy to have a great one! Having spent years buying gorgeous handbags as a passion, then the last two years scouring the planet for gorgeous handbags for kō, I was deeply saddened to hear that the infamous Kate Spade of Kate Spade handbags took her own life recently. For those of you who don’t know, Kate Spade emerged in the early 90s in the heart of New York City as a girl with creativity and a desire to produce a clean yet quirky handbag. Her bags, often in bright colours or pastels, with simple handles and vibrantly colored linings were picked up by Barneys and other department stores and she soon became known as one of the world’s top handbag designers. Her bags featured in Vogue and other fashion magazines. She sold
Kate Spade handbags ten years ago and is survived by her daughter and husband. As Josh Groban stated on his instagram feed today – Depression does not discriminate and comes without warning. RIP Kate Spade.
